C'est sûrement LA nouvelle de la décennie !

Les fans des Beatles auront bientôt l'opportunité de compléter leurs collections. En effet, une version remastérisée en format numérique du catalogue le plus rentable au monde sera disponible le 9 septembre 2009 , comprenant leurs 12 albums, ainsi que les Past Masters I et II et le Magical Mistery Tour.

Après 4 ans de travail acharné, les techniciens du studio Abbey Road ont remasterisé en stéréo les œuvres des Fab Four, assurant « la plus haute fidélité que le catalogue a connu depuis son édition d'origine » d’après le site du magazine anglais NME.

C’est la première fois depuis 1987 que l’oeuvre des Beatles bénéficie ainsi d’une édition « optimisée ».

Chaque album contiendra en plus de sa nouvelle couverture (juste le format qui change, pour reproduire au mieux le style 33T) un bref documentaire sur la production de l'album ainsi qu'un nouveau livret étoffés de notes, avec de nouvelles photos et des dates précises ! Dans le documentaire, on pourra trouver des dialogues inédits, des archives et des photos rares.

Ce sera le cas pour tous les 13 albums de la carrière des Beatles

En plus de ça, mais seulement pour une période limitée, chaque opus contiendra un lien amenant à un mini-documentaire, contenant des fragments inédits des Beatles parlant en studio le tout accompagné d’images d’archive.

Chaque album, désormais en stéréo, sera disponible seul ou en coffret.

Un coffret d’enregistrements en mono sera également disponible et s’intitulera The Beatles In Mono.
Concernant la sortie digitale de ce catalogue remasterisé, rien n’est encore sûr. Mais le mois dernier, Dhani Harrison, le fils de George, déclarait que les propriétaires des droits du catalogue réfléchissait à la mise en ligne d’un site entièrement dédié à la vente des titres des Beatles en numérique.

Quant au jeu vidéo The Beatles : Rock Band, il devrait également sortir le 9 septembre prochain.

Ready Steady Go! ("A vos marques, prêt, partez" - plus simplement abrégé RSG! - était une des premières émissions musicales britanniques consacrées au rock et à la pop.
Elle fut créée par Elkan Allen, alors PDG de Rediffusion TV, qui voulait tenter un concept d'émission radio dédiée à des prestations musicales. Allen fut assisté par le fameux Vicki Wickham, producteur de disques et manager talentueux, qui devint aussi un des producteurs du show.

RSG! a été filmée pour la première fois en août 1963; l'enregistrements d'émission cessa en décembre 1966. Elle était produite par Associated-Rediffusion, renommée plus tard Rediffusion, qui avait les droits ITV sur la région de Londres. Ce fut un tel succès que le concept fut importé dans d'autres pays. Le triomphe de l'émission est étroitement lié à la British Invasion et au phénomène planétaire des Beatles.

Elle était diffusée les vendredis soirs et était introduite chaque semaine par l’émission « 5-4-3-2-1 » de Manfred Mann (remplacée plus tard par « Hubble Bubble, Toil and Trouble » du même homme). L’émission était plus orientée vers la jeunesse que sa rivale de l’époque « Top of the Pops », diffusée sur la BBC.

A l'origine, les artistes diffusés sur RSG! jouaient en play-back. Toutefois, au début de l'année 1964, certains groupes donnèrent de vraies performances live. Finalement, toutes les performances étaient live en avril 1965. Il était demandé aux artistes de jouer des versions entières de leurs chansons plutôt que des versions courtes telles qu’elles étaient demandées par les shows de l’époque.

En 1966, alors que le mouvement beat s’éteignant, l’émission fut supprimée des grilles de programmes. Sa disparition au summum de sa gloire permit à RSG ! d’acquérir un statut d’émission culte.

RSG! avait pour vedettes des groupes et des artistes à succès. Citons parmi eux : The Beatles, Gerry And The Pacemakers, The Rolling Stones, Donovan, The Dave Clark Five, Dusty Springfield, Bobby Vee, The Animals, Cilla Black, The Searchers, The Who, Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames, Billy Fury, Lulu, Van Morrison, Marvin Gaye, Gene Pitney, The Beach Boys, Sandie Shaw, Burt Bacharach, Samantha Jones, Jerry Lee Lewis, Kenny Lynch, Simon Scott (III), Them et The Zephyrs.
